INVITATION FOR CHIEF EDITOR The Hong Kong Journal of Paediatrics (HKJP) is a quarterly joint publication of the Hong Kong College of Paediatricians (HKCPead) and The Hong Kong Paediatric Society (HKPS). The position of Chief Editor of the Hong Kong Journal of Paediatrics is now open for application for the three-year term starting on 1 February 2026. The Chief Editor will lead the Editorial Board with the assistance of Associate Editors and will be responsible for decisions related to journal content, editorial strategies, as well as the Journal’s future direction.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Reviewing and evaluating quality, appropriateness and priority for publication of content submitted to the Journal
• Ensuring the quality of all Journal content and the timely release of each issue of the Journal
• Resolving problems that arise from time to time, such as plagiarism and ensuring articles are original and have not been published before elsewhere
• Approving the publication's layout
• Securing submissions from high-quality contributors (authors) and maintaining a network of reliable and expert reviewers

Competences and Skills

• Strong academic background in paediatrics
• Experience in editing academic journals is highly preferred
• Strong credentials in scientific research and in academic publications in paediatrics

Compensation and Benefits

• The position is voluntary and unpaid, and the Chief Editor could also hold full-time positions at academic medical centres

• A full CV including education, work experience, academic achievements, and a brief description of your qualifications related to this position
• Representative research publications over the past 5 years
